The Velvet Set performs all the swing & jazz classics by: Frank Sinatra, Ella Fitzgerald, Nina Simone, Nat King Cole, Sarah Vaughn, Peggy Lee, Bobby Darin, Sammy Davis Jnr, Glenn Miller and Cole Porter to name but a few. They also play the best neo-swing such as Royal Crown Review, Big Bad Voodoo Daddy and the Brian Setzer Orchestra. Regarded by many as Australia’s most dynamic swing band, the Velvet Set will light up the stage with 3 sets of the best classic and neo-swing to keep the dance floor jumping and jiving all night long!!!
	Brisbane: The Calibre Cats (9-piece Swing Band)

Swing music – which had its heyday back in the 1920s – is back in vogue, and the big sound of Brisbane’s Calibre Cats is bound to get you off your seat and dancing all night long. The band features the lead vocals of Bridget “Dollface” Burnell, whose unique sound and sexy style has seen her dubbed as the only female gangster in Australian neo-swing, and backing her up is a hot shot group of musicians with a wide variety of credits to their name. So practice your jitterbug or lindy hop and get jumpin’!
	Melbourne: The B# Big Band (17-piece Swing Band)
www.bsharpbigband.com.au	The B# Big Band is Melbourne’s most exciting, swingin’ Big Band – just ask their biggest fan, James Morrison! They’re bringing a fresh, invigorating sound to Melbourne and casting a spell on new audiences with every performance. The B# sound has certainly got feet a-tappin’ and hearts a-poundin’ all over town! The founder and director, Henry Kovacevic, was keen to pull together some of Australia’s best jazz & session musicians to perform the classic arrangements of Basie, Ellington, Goodman, Miller and other Big Cats of the 30s, 40s & 50s. In addition, guest vocalists perform tunes made famous by Anita O’Day, Ella Fitzgerald, Frank Sinatra, Bobby Darin and Peggy Lee amongst others. Many of the arrangements B# has acquired, or had carefully arranged, are well known classics! Some have for many years been ‘lost’ classics, not performed by other Big Bands around Melbourne, and rarely in Australia, if at all. B# resuscitate these infectious tunes with a fresh twist, exposing new audiences to the lush, invigorating sound that made Big Band swing addictive to swing ears then, and now again.
